The Working Harbor of New York and New Jersey
Featuring the giant container ports in Newark Bay

Our special narrated Hidden Harbor Tours® will provide an insiders look at the largest and busiest maritime port on the East Coast of the USA, topped off at sunset with a close-up view of the Statue of Liberty.

Where we go: Brooklyn Piers, Buttermilk Channel, Erie Basin, Upper New York Harbor, Kill Van Kull, Port Newark/Elizabeth, Military Ocean Terminal, The 9/11 Teardrop Memorial, Global Marine Terminal and ending at the Statue of Liberty.

What we see: Giant container ship ports, tugboat yards, ship repair facilities, large ship, tug and barge traffic mixing it up with water taxis, excursion boats, historic vessels, coast guard, police and fire boats, giant floating cranes and even tiny kayaks.

What we learn: How the working harbor really works and what all those ships and tugs do, why shipping is the most green way to get goods into the region, how your Toyota, TV or pair of sneakers got here, what we export, and more.
